Yin Yoga Classes
Tuesdays 7.30 – 8.45pm, currently online , £6 per class
Yin yoga is a slower-paced yoga where postures are held for 3-5 minutes or more, with lots of focus on the breath. These longer holds allow the release of muscular tension, and work deeper into the connective tissue, fascia and joints, helping to release deeply held tension and blocked energy in the physical body. At the same time, yin yoga challenges the mind and body to surrender to the physical sensations that may arise with longer holds – a great reminder to re-connect to the breath and be with whatever is arising in the present moment.
My yin class usually finishes with a 15 minute yoga nidra or guided relaxation, which encourages complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. In this state of “conscious sleep”, we can develop a deeper self-awareness, especially around habitual patterns of behaviour. This insight into ourselves can be a powerful tool for transformation.

This 5 week course is for anyone who struggles to fall asleep, wakes up in the night and can’t get back to sleep, wakes up too early, or sleeps through the night but doesn’t feel refreshed in the morning. The course works through the 5 step Sleep Recovery method to help improve your sleep, and to wake up more refreshed, by working with your personal sleep type and looking at what could be sabotaging your sleep. It helps relax and repair the body, balance the nervous system and replenish your energy, slow down the mind, restore emotional balance and reawaken the happy inside you, through using yoga postures, breathing techniques and mindfulness tools.
